IMS had the loose beginnings of a brand design when they enlisted us; a quick logo applied to some print collateral. They knew it could (and should) be so much more.
Our first mission was to design a brand mark that expressed traditional, institutional values, while exuding a heartwarming and caring sentimentality. The design team became very close to this aspect of the project, and the resulting logo options were so successful it was difficult to choose just one.
The IMS team decided the boy with the apple and accompanying stack of books said it all. We then built the rest of the brand aesthetic and created websites (corporate and for the individual schools), printed material and advertisements.
Designing with early-stage, institutional characteristics in mind, we used primary colors for the palette which we paired with friendly and fun type styles. The imagery, which tells so much of the story, came directly from the heart of the organization: the schools.
Independence Mission Schools continues to represent the very best in educational support and management. I'm very proud to have worked with them!
